About
Born in Shiraz, Iran, I started to find and develop my passion for math when I was only 3 years old. While attending high school, I was required to choose a major. As I was only interested in Math (I barely passed History and Literature), I chose Math and Physics. I was lucky to have amazing Mathematics teachers and hope to impart those lessons to my students as well.
After moving to the United States in 2009, I enrolled in college and acquired my Bachelors Degree in Science from Touro College. Upon completion, I continued my studies in Graduate school, majoring in computer science. However, after a year, I suspended my graduate studies as it was not something that I felt truly passionate about. It was at that point that I began to think more about mathematics and how I could incorporate my knowledge to help others.
While in college, I consistently tutored two of my best friends in their mathmatics courses. I began to realize that I may be able to help a lot more people with something that I enjoy.
I strongly believe that Mathematics is discoverable for everyone at any age, if given the right instruction and learning methods. Math can be mastered by because it utilizes plain logic!
My students often ask me, “Sheki, What do we need this math for in real life?!” My response is always: “if you could convince and train your brain to sit and find solutionS for a math problem, you’ll be a better problem solver in the future…”
These skills can of course be obtained by all the other challenging tasks as well as science, but I believe math is one of the most basic and the foundation that can challenge the brain to think and problem solve in a multitude of ways.
My goal is to make Mathematics instruction readily available and easily attainable for everyone.
